I've been trying to find good things said about the Manual in the RS3... I don't think one was ever offered unfortunately...

Golf R seems to have a nice sensitive clutch... not sure if that will carryover to R400, but its a place to start

And what a manual: Light, buttery and perfectly mated to a sensitive clutch, it feels as good as any Porsche stick. On our test drive from San Diego to Julian, California – torching the Cleveland National Forest on some of the most adrenaline-pumping roads in the continental U.S. – the stick-and-clutch version proved notably more engaging than the automatic DSG model.

As much as making the R400 too potent and value packed of a packaged that could be taking away points from Porsche... I don't think this is one they should hold out on, the R400 being a well rounded package could help them in more ways than just with the R400... helps trickle down those eye balls to other Golfs, not everyone is going to have R400 money nor need it.
